In 1987 the grand finale of Marillion's Fish-era was released, "Clutching at Straws". Just like the previous three albums, this album seemed to be yet another chapter in the biography of Fish's life. Whereas he previously wrote lyrics about the loss of (some of his) friends and (his) childhood, this album is not any more uplifting, most of it deals with addictions to both alcohol as well as drugs. "30 Seconds to Mars" is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1998. The band features actor Jared Leto as vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter.
Founded in 1998 by Jared Leto's brother Shannon Leto, 30 Seconds to Mars began as a small family project. Matt Wachter later joined the band as bassist and keyboard player. After working with a number of guitarists (as the band's first two guitarists, Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler, left the band due to issues primarily related to touring), the three auditioned Tomo Miličević to round out the band's roster.

Aladdin Sane is an album by David Bowie, released by RCA Records in 1973. The follow-up to his breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, it was the first album Bowie wrote and released as a bona fide pop star. This are the studio demo tracks the band drawn on to record the final mix of their "Wall" album: every track is a radically different. It includes loads of unedited mixes, never released tracks (merged into other songs), different lyrics, original sound collages etc... Without the full lush arrangements you get a good idea of what Roger Waters had in mind when he first conceived The Wall. It is a real surprise is to hear the band experimenting with all sorts of different ideas that didn't make it onto the final mix for most: various synth lines, weird sounds, raw guitars, strange sound collages etc... One can appreciate the massive task of editing and changing most of these songs to fit on the double album we all know. It is just like being in the studio with the Floyd, and it is "The Wall" like you have never heard it before!

Here We Go Magic is a five-piece band made up of members Luke Temple, Kristina Lieberson, Michael Bloch, Jennifer Turner, and Peter Hale. They originally came together in New York in early 2009 through a series of chance encounters, overheard conversations and supernatural occurrences. They spent much of 2009 on successive North American and European tours with bands such Department of Eagles, Grizzly Bear, and the Walkmen, before retreating to a house near East Branch, NY to record their second full length LP. Pigeons, set for release on Secretly Canadian in late Spring 2010, was produced and recorded by Here We Go Magic over four months in the late Summer and Fall of 2009. The band plans extensive touring in conjunction with its release.
