Le 30 janvier 2007, Art Garfunkel, moitié du duo pop folk mythique Simon & Garfunkel, sera de retour dans les bacs avec un nouvel et douzième album solo. Baptisé Some Enchanted Evening, ce disque a été enregistré entre Los Angeles et New York. Il a été produit par le collaborateur de longue date Richard Perry. Art Garfunkel y reprend des chansons de grands songwriters du XXème siècle (George Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Antonio Carlos Jobim). Pour présenter son nouvel album, il sera de passage à l'Olympia (Paris) le 21 mars 2007.

Sophie B Hawkins, a new face in pop heaven. On certain types of radio (hint - not the techno ones) they would play several singles of this album all day long. Sometimes I think these songs are just too sweet, just about loving and such but then the arrangements are ok, Sophie's voice is good too, so from time to time it is worth playing. This is easy listening at its hardcore ;-) You'll like it at first listen or probably not at all and never. But to her credit I ought to say, she is capable of writing her own songs and if we forget about the lyrics (boy should forget, girls don't have to), then she does very good job.

You probably have seen some Kitaro's albums here in Avax - it is good I don't have to introduce this Japanese artist. I admire his Silk road work and for me is best his earlier work - the latter seems to be much of the same or sometimes too bombastic. Now I have to admitt my musical taste a bit shifted, but still I got something and from time to time I will post it.
Kitaro styl is very distinctive and clear. You can hear the eastern motives and sounds, mostly electronic, assembling together enjoyable soundscapes
