Delta Moon churns out a thick blend of Chicago slide-guitar blues and Southern soul-rock, and Mark Johnson plays a mean slide guitar, but it's the pair's focused songwriting that makes this disc a keeper. Willie Nelson's tribute to Lefty Frizzell and of course, Merle Haggard, who can sing just about anyone are about the only ones that compare. Most tribute albums are by various artists and you may hit 50% if you are fortunate as to who can really sing the songs. This album is a must for all Jim Reeves and Charley Pride fans. The velvety voice of Charley Pride not only performs with his usual excellence but brings back the memories of the Gentlemen Jim Reeves in a way that only Charley can produce. I higly recommend.
