Oh Shucks, I have to wait three hours to hear this next installment of your wonderful Sinatra Box. I am stuck out of town on a slow DSL connection. At home I would be Swingin' in less than 30 minutes.

Let me chime in with my appreciation of your efforts, especially the measured pace at which you post. Which is probably why your results have been uniformely excellent. You're not a mass producer, VanPelten, you're a Master!

Aaaaah , good to be back :)

Amazing posts this past 2 months :)

Downloaded 2 albums of the real Boss , amazing !!
Also went through the discussion with rsfoto about recorded to loud.....
Well , my 2 cents based on listening only on 2 systems , one good , one crap,no spectral analysis.
Nice n'Easy vocals sound a little over the top and a little annatural , with the overall record being agressively loud , but "a swinging affair" is a pure joy ! the whole record is more laid back and dimensional , the vocals more natural
Maybe its the record itself or the volume went down a notch
food for thought

but anyway , amazing !

Awesome posts, the Sinatra Set sounds fantastico....the Man is right in the room crooning to me with each and every record! Thanks for these plus your growing list of Class-A posts!

Headsup! I made a typo in the header: this is incorrectly labeled as "Disc 9 of 16" instead of the correct number, Disc 5. Didn't want to pull it offline because it would take forever for the kindly sysops at avax to put it up again.

So once again..."a Swingin' Affair" is DISC 5. Really. Honest.

Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous collection, VanPelten! You've put me on a real Sinatra kick. Since Friday night, I've been listening to all six of the vinyl rips you've posted thus far. They're really just—ahem—too marvelous for words. ;) The sound quality is truly fantastic.

I think I might be enjoying 'A Swingin' Affair!' (a new discovery for me) most of all. Man, this album is f'ing amazing! Absolutely superb vocal performances, song selection and arrangements. This is fast becoming one of my very favorite Frank Sinatra albums. I love it. Thanks a million, VP! I can't wait to hear your transfers of the rest of the gems in this collection. ^_^
