Dear Publisher!

The special section "Audiophile" is a special place for audiophile albums. Just because you ripped an album in lossless format does not make it an audiophile album. Same as an original audiophile album ripped at 160 Kbps VBR MP3 does not fit here.

**IF** you want to publish to the audiophile section, please make sure that you publish an audiophile album in an audiophile (lossless) format. If it is not easy to recognize (like with MFSL), please include info proofing that it is an audiophile album.

Calexico - The Black Light - LP rip in 24 Bit/ 96 Khz + Redbook

Calexico - The Black Light
Quarterstick Records
Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz + 16-bit/44kHz | FLAC (Tracks) , artworks | Stereo | 999, 277 Mb | 5% RAR Recovery | 1998
Styles: Rock, Americana | RapidShare Download

Deeper and richer than their debut, Spoke, Calexico's second album expands upon the sun-baked, cinematic sound of before with the addition of Latin jazz rhythms, mariachi trumpets, and pedal steel; in and of themselves, the group's songs are not exactly compelling, but they're produced with such a fine sense of texture and atmosphere that The Black Light still makes for intriguing listening. Allmusic 4,5/5.

It has been certified triple platinum by the R.I.A.A., and is #103 on Rolling Stone's list of the “500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. This new pressing of this timeless classic on 180 gram virgin vinyl is an extraordinary way to experience the warmth, depth and range of emotions of signature Taylor songs including “Fire And Rain,” “Country Road” and the title track, which fittingly ends with the line, “but singing works just fine for me.” ~ Many thanks to the original ripper!

Nat King Cole remains a huge influence on today's younger artists--and rightly so. Nat King Cole could take a classic number and sing it as if it were the world's most beautiful and freshest ballad--ever. His voice on this CD is consistently energetic and full of masculine warmth; and the songs on CD represent a collection of Nat's greatest hit singles.

The pleasures of good bluegrass music are not to be underestimated, especially instrumental bluegrass. In these days of pretentious in-your-face alternative rock, pretentious teenage pop groups, pretentious country music stars, pretentious pseudo-Latin hits and even roots rock bands that sound so sincere that it borders on the pretentious, hearing one of the great American music forms played by a bunch of musicians using instruments that don't plug in, can really be a breath of fresh air. Especially when those musicians are some of the best around and are doing what they do for the love and enthusiasm of the music and having an infectiously great time in the process. I am reminded of this by a DVD that combines some of the world's finest living bluegrass musicians in a recording that is not only stellar luegrass, but is just great music from any objective perspective. It's the newest release by the prolific banjo luminary Béla Fleck called The Bluegrass Sessions, Tales from the Acoustic Planet Volume 2, and it just doesn't get much better than this. Even if you are not a fan of bluegrass, The Bluegrass Sessions may well make you into one. It's a wonderful change from the mindless similarity of
commercial pop. It's also exceptional music played by exceptional musicians, irrespective of genre. The Graham Weekly Album Review #1157

"War Child"'s achievement is in its music: some of the richest in recent memory, the arrangements are consistently stunning in their execution, courting excess but impossibly balanced by admirable dexterity. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that "Skating On The Thin Ice of The New Day" is one of my favorite songs (a musical epiphany, if you will).

Remastered for DVD-Audio
Flac Files | No Log/Cue (DVD Rip) | Complete HQ Scans | ~ 1.3 Gb | RS
Original 1976 | 54:32 min | Bonus Tracks | Smooth Jazz

Before this album was released in 1976, George Benson was known largely for his Wes Montgomery/Charlie Christian-inspired licks and his stints with Jack McDuff and Miles Davis. Breezin' was a million-selling, Grammy Award-winning LP and made Benson an "overnight" star. The reasons for that success were Tommy LiPuma's topnotch production, Claus Ogerman's ethereal arrangements, and Benson's soulful vocals on Leon Russell's ballad "This Masquerade." Backed by Fourplay drummer Harvey Mason, master percussionist Ralph MacDonald, bassist Stanley Banks, rhythm guitarist Phil Upchurch, and keyboardists Ronnie Scott and Jorge Dalto, Benson and the crew laid down the moods and grooves we now call "contemporary jazz." From the soft-rock of "Six to Four," the midtempo backbeat of the title track, and the Latin-tinged tunes "Affirmation," "So This Is Love?" and "Lady," Benson's fleet-fingered Ibanez guitar lines make the rare leap from straight-ahead to the mainstream. Added to the DVD-A are two bonus tracks not on the LP: a snappy and soulful rendition of "Down Here on the Ground," from the movie Cool Hand Luke, a Bob James-like funk number "Shark Bite." George Benson was never the same after this record and neither was jazz. --Eugene Holley, Jr.

In August 2002, ABKCO Records reissued Beggars Banquet as a newly remastered LP and SACD/CD hybrid disk. This release corrected an important flaw in the original album by restoring each song to its proper, slightly faster speed. Due to an error in the mastering, Beggars Banquet was heard for over thirty years at a slower speed than it was recorded. This had the effect of altering not only the tempo of each song, but the song's key as well. These differences were subtle but important, and the remastered version is about 30 seconds shorter than the original release. Wikipedia.

Remixed and Remastered with Pete Townshend
Flac Files | No Log/Cue (DVD Rip) | Complete HQ Scans | ~ 2.2 Gb | RS
Original 1968 | 75:00 min | 28-Page Booklet | Classic Rock

The full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb, and blind boy that launched the band to international superstardom, written almost entirely by Pete Townshend. Townshend's ability to construct a lengthy conceptual narrative brought new possibilities to rock music. On a properly equipped DVD machine (which is to say, DVD Audio-capable players), it offers Advanced Resolution 24-bit Surround Sound and Advanced Resolution 24-bit Stereo, which are extremely impressive through good speakers and bring out even more nuances in the playing and singing than the Deluxe Edition; Townshend's work always came out well, but here bassist John Entwistle is finally heard properly in the mix, and Moon's drumming now comes off as the best of his career to date and perhaps the best across a full album of his whole career -- Moon's drums serve the same role on Tommy that the orchestra would have, had the band had the time and money to engage an orchestra for this recording, and it's a wonder to behold in the hearing. Rapidshare | Rock, Jazz-Rock | Original UK Deram mono pressing / DML 1042

Pairing poet Terry Durham with talents including avant-garde saxophonist Evan Parker and veteran arranger John Coleman, Crystal Telephone remains one of the singular records of the late '60s, a lush and funky word-jazz fantasia shrouded in cigarette smoke and drunk on language. Durham's crushed-velvet voice recalls John Cale's spoken word recitation of "The Gift" on the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat, albeit couched in Coleman's cinematic, thickly rhythmic jazz-rock settings. His vividly perverse song-poems capture the romantic allure of fatalism (or is that the fatal allure of romance?), and his attempts at crooning, especially Crystal Telephone's transcendent title cut, are particularly effective. A masterpiece of decadence and indulgence. Jason Ankeny AMG
