“I've owned Tibet, Tibet by Yungchen Lhamo for 3 years. It's very beautiful music. Too intense for playing as background for home socializing, though. Best in private listening. Her voice has a magnificent range, full articulation. It's deeply sad at times. There's a certain heart-wrenching quality in Tibetan refugee women's household singing, the normal daily singing a woman might do when fetching water or stirring the hearth... That quality once flowed mainly from broken-hearted lovers but now it flows from all who have lost their connection to their land. Yungchen Lhamo has that quality in powerful measure. Her name means “great symbol of the protector goddess”. Powerful name, powerful voice.”Customer Review on Amazon.com

Yungchen Lhamo

“Lyrically, the songs on the album are offerings. «Par Panee Dawa Shar» likens moonrise to her Lama's face, hoping that - by offering song and dance to him - he will shower down his blessings. «Lama Dorje Chang» asks the Dalai Lama to bless us with his enlightened mind. «Om Mani Padme Hung» is the Tibetan mantra, and «Ari-Lo» tells of entering a new land. At first, sings Yungchen Lhamo, the land may seem hostile, like a fearful stranger, but knowledge can lead to it becoming as close as a lover. The final track - telling of the strife besetting Tibet, the bravery of its people and the confidence that the Dalai Lama will one day preside again - utilizes a full orchestra, courtesy of technological software. «You can't see the people, it's an invisible orchestra», giggles Yungchen Lhamo. «They fell from the sky».”RealWorldUSA.com

Excuse – I only do that I consider necessary.
If tomorrow Italy occupies Vatican and will compel Pope to leave in exile – you will ask to not mention it? (I ask Italians to forgive me – but to me was necessary convincing example).
Even if will ask – I all the same shall not be silent. %)
Yes, I use the post in the personal purposes. But I never spoke, that I – beau ideal.

P.S. All is simple:

• It is nasty to kill (all the same whom)

• To pursue Buddhists because they Buddhists – too it is nasty (as well as any persecution of any faithfuls)

Where here a policy? Only one ethics.

All my encouragement, Avax, for this position in the name of freedom!

No, please, leave politics out.
Of course you are right, that China is definitely crossing a border here, but the comparison to the Vatican being invaded by Italy is not an appropriate one.

Tibet before the occupation of the Chinese was NOT, I repeat, NOT a democratic country.
The Dalai Lama had slaves of his own (look it up, if you doubt that), women had abso-bally-lutely no rights in this country, and all those boys who were "chosen" to become monks never had another choice.
If they decided not to follow the "holy path", they simply dropped out of society entirely and most of them starved to death.

That’s the reason why there should be no comparison be made to the Vatican: that IS quite another pair of shoes, if you follow my meaning – no slaves, no women, freedom of choice for the monks.
And that’s the reason why no political statement (of what sort whatsoever) should be made here.

What is all of this about? A few "pressure group" protesters making a noise?

Tibetans' right to protest and self-determination has been going on for 40 years, and still the Chinese think the world will look the other way while they smash down with a heavy Army boot on the face of freedom.

Bravo Avax! This site shows it has a conscience.

THANKS AVAX FOR SUPPORT TIBET CAUSE !!!

I recommend to watch he movie "Kundun (1997)" You will find the TIBETANS conditions and mentality and how the entire world ignore china occupation to this inoffensive religious country without ARMY.

After the occupation of the TIBET... china prove this ==> "The entire world is afraid of their atomic arsenal, even USA" thats the reason everyone look other way even when the government of china massacre his own people when the "TANK MAN" start the Tiananmen Square protests

I lived long time in the socialist country (USSR). Therefore I well know democratic character of communistic authorities. “The Person Was the property of a monastery – the person became the property of the country” – I do not think, that it is the big progress.
Certainly, freedom of a choice is well. And equality of women – too is good. But, as a certain clever person has told: there can not be a happiness if at its basis there is a suffering.
Speaking shortly: I do not call to return for Dalai Lama its slaves. I only want peace in Tibet. %)

Great Avax you have done what every liberal & democratic citizen must do.
Tibetens are very peaceful & very deep adherents of Mahatma Buddha. China should be treated in the same way. but who has the courage. US & Uk can not take such steps because of their Political & Economical interests.

My Present Indian Govt. is group of Hijras (Eunuchs).

Once again thank u.

How bright and wonderful this world would be, if everybody would care more about what is happening right there in front of his eyes, and not 1000 miles away from him...

Rudee

Unfortunately it's not en vogue these days to think critically!

Avax

Another not less clever man asked: Are you still believing or did already start to think?

I mean what the hell will change in Tibet after your posting? Or do you feel yourself so much better? Why don't you use your energy in making this forum faster, more stable - and more important - more critical and more educative? Free of this astrological, religious, etc shit? The right for free speech? Oh, yeah, sure, how could i forget! But i do not think any horoscope, even if made by the gods themselves, and sung by the tibetian monks will help your jobless neighbour.

2jantine:
Thanks! It is very pleasant to see adequate people from the different countries! Certainly, we cannot cardinally change this world. But to make it is hardly better – we can! And even – should.

2ALL:
Please forgive my nasty English language. My electronic translator try hard! But not always happily.

@ darkseed

"I mean what the hell will change in Tibet after your posting?"

I fear: Nothing. But it is worth a try.

"Or do you feel yourself so much better?"

Guess you are really not able to understand Avax*s feelings ...

"Why don't you use your energy in making this forum faster, more stable ..."

Because it is Avax - not you - who decides what to use his energy for.

@ All

Sure you cannot fully ignore politics then it comes to the topic of Tibet, but Avax's intention was about human rights and freedom - including freedom of religion.

Avax shared his feelings with you by adding them to this music album.Friends, we are at AVAX-Home. Or better read this as: Avax*s Home. He shares his "home" with all of you - it's like a shame if he now has to defend for opening his mouth in his own home.

No-one is banned from here if he does not share Avax*s view :-) If you see it different, feel free to wite it. But please do not start to tell Avax what he "has to do".

2 hours before I prepared AvaxHome's Easter Greetings publication, I watched on TV news the latest pictures from Tibet. It was very hard for me to resist adding the picture of the Easter Bunny with the machine gun ...

To make it short: I see it same as Avax.

And I bet there are at least some of our user from mainland China who share our views. But AvaxHome is not a Chinese site, so we are free to tell what we think.

Posted By: Avax Date: 07 Apr 2022 19:17:15
2darkseed:
It is very interesting question. I am obviously powerless, therefore it is not necessary to do anything? Or all the same “the drop is capable to destroy a stone”? How many it is necessary drops? I do not know. You too do not know. But nevertheless you consider mine “a drop” obviously insignificant. Your right.

OK, we go further.

“Why you do not use your energy in creation of this forum... etc”. Believe, I try. But I not the programmer and not the engineer. We, AH-Team till now could not find the necessary expert. I assure you, I very much suffer from it. It is the SHAME. But I – not the Lord the God.
Here result of my work:
http://avaxhome.ws/blogs/Avax
But to make AH faster and convenient I cannot. AH is a COMMAND project. The desire of ALL members of a command is necessary.
Forgive, it is complex to explain it – especially in English. Ask Bully (Bully, sorry %) – will hear a lot of the interesting information.
Posted By: Avax Date: 07 Apr 2022 19:46:32

2Bully:
Thanks!

P.S. However notice: AH has very worthy audience! Nobody has demanded to shoot me, or to place in prison – is optimistically. Though... Probably, still ahead. %)

"Ask Bully (Bully, sorry %) ..."

ARRRRRRRRRRRGH ;-)

@ All

The problems we currently (again) have to face are based on 1 simple fact: Too many users. Meanwhile over 1 million of users access AvaxHome and special in (local) peak times we have hard problems to keep up with the traffic our users create.

AvaxHome is a realtime database application with many changes in each second - it is NOT a server hosting static html pages. AvaxHome already uses a high optimized software engine exclusive developed for our special needs. The new software engine was well tested with a load of 750.000 users and did run very well and fast when it was started summer last year. With 25% reserve to scale up to 1 million users we thought this should be OK for the "next years" :-)

The AvaxHome software engine is a multi-server application. We currently run 5 servers for AvaxHome. In past I also thought that just adding 1 or 2 more servers to our network would increase performance, but it is much more complex. The more servers we add, the more additional traffic we need to handle to keep the servers synchronized. Typical problems of "running out of sync" are the well known "Permission denied " errors you receive with some tasks, while others do run fine. This is not a software bug we could fix, it is also a performance problem. Even the 1 Gigabit lines the servers talk to each other (the internal Avaxhome network) are not always fast enough to handle the traffic our users create.

But this high traffic our users create is not only a problem for our own servers. Each connection you make from your country to AvaxHome is routed over many servers, so called backbones. They all have to handle the traffic our users create and some of them do not like this - when traffic gets too high, it can happen that they just limit it, assigning less bandwidth to feed data to our servers.

There is no easy way to fix current problems. Our technical team now mainly works on 2 topics:

1. To further "granulate" sub tasks so they can be better be distributed among the servers taking less time to finish on that server. Not easy, because it must be avoided that synchronizing the sub-sub-tasks takes more time as we win by better distribution

2. To reduce traffic of transfered data both for us and for the routing backbones.

Special with point 2 every AvaxHome user can help. If a page doesn't load as quick as you hope, please be PATIENT and WAIT until it loads. Please do NOT endless press the F5 / Reload key of your browser! Our logs show users who press the F5 key 5 times and more in a single second. This is pure nonsense and the result is fully the opposite. Each "Reload" you send to our servers just increases the traffic, slowing down everything even more for ALL of the users.

OK, this is in a simplified form the current situation. Our technical team works hard on improvements, but it will take some more time.

I wrote these lines because Avax asked, but please let's stop the technical talks here. And please keep in mind that I am NOT the Technical Director of AvaxHome :-) And I am very glad that I am not ;-))

"Nobody has demanded to shoot me, or to place in prison – is optimistically. Though... Probably, still ahead. %)"

Yep. But your publication is now online for just 6 hours - many of our users in different parts of the world are currently sleeping. And I guess not even everyone of our team did see it so far. So, let's see :-)

But yes, it is better if I already start writing some lines to be prepared for whatever might happen to you ;-))

Avax, what's the problem with the site right now - do you experience ddos attacks from Chinese hackers already? :))) It's a joke. I totally agree with the topic.

sorry, my two cents
1. Tibet would never be independent and a free nation, China simply won't allow it. Only the Power, as China already became, is getting respect in our society (the dog's barking, the caravan's going on). I wish serbs had had the same backing power, a lot of things would go differently.
2. All these demonstrations or protests (whatever), again and again, look very well orchestrated from you know where (my finger points to Washington). Of course, who else can organize so big event as Olympics are except free western societies? [email protected]
3. I do believe China and chinese people would have the best Olympic games ever and nothing will interrupt them.

Lament dear Avax but to put the politics here have been make never!

@ extraneo: even 100 are 100 too much!

The first sentence on the Official website of the Olympic Movement says:

The Games have always brought people together in peace to respect universal moral principles. The upcoming Games will feature athletes from all over the world and help promote the Olympic spirit.

How can there be Olympic Games "in peace" with unpeace in Tibet?

Posted By: floyders Date: 08 Apr 2022 02:15:00
Yes, I agree why not voice an opinion about politics.... It is your right as a website...

Just because we don't feel compelled to protest our own governments doesn't give us a right to turn a blind eye to what's happening around the world. People are people no matter where they live on this great earth. Thanks for putting this on people's radars and at least making them think for a second about what may be happening somewhere very far away but that could be happening to them someday... or maybe it is already and they don't realize it..!!!

Please read this books and you know who Dalai Lama is really and how get the support of CIA:
1 -"Buddha's Warriors: The Story of the CIA-Backed Tibetan Freedom Fighters, the Chinese Invasion, and the Ulitimate Fall of Tibet par Dalai Lama et Mikel Dunham"
2-"The Cia's Secret War in Tibet par Kenneth J. Conboy et James Morrison"

Does sincerely anybody know what Tibet is (country? since when?) and who is Dalai?

What do you know about Tibet?
By just watching "Kundun" or "Seven Days in Tibet", you think you know the territory well?
I really wonder how many of those who cry "free Tibet" know where Tibet is.
Dig deeper, don't just be a hearsay.
Did you not question about the timing of recent riots?
Why can't we leave this website as a place where we can enjoy good music, good books and magazines, good movies and, of course,
good softwares.

To horshungry'

Aboriginals in Australia, west Indians in North America and natives in Hawaii all don't look like the people who came to occupy their lands.
They did not share the least resemblance. What were Great Britain, France, Spain and the US doing in their countries?
My point is the Western Powers can only see splints in their neighbor's eyes but not being able to see the planks in their own.
Northern Ireland has been demanding independence. Countless bloodshed attacks and riots happened. What did UK do to suppress them?
Posted By: Peace Date: 08 Apr 2022 08:55:00

@ fengzaiji

"I really wonder how many of those who cry "free Tibet" know where Tibet is."

May be that there were deficites in the past but actually, due to the TV-news which often show maps, most people meanwhile should know it.

btw.: there is a big difference between saying "free Tibet" or "Peace for Tibet" - the first statement is political and the second one is a human wish that we all should have.

Posted By: horshungry Date: 08 Apr 2022 15:10:00
@ fengzaiji

You obviously didn't read my last paragraph where I accuse "Western" countries of horrific abuse to indigenous & ethnic cultures past & Present.
My point about Look-a-likes is exactly as you say. If the indigenous people look different or have different cultures to the Occupier - what is the Occupier doing there? If Europeans want to knock 7 bells out of each other, who cares? They are all basically the same mix of people: but they do not, nor anyone else have the right to Occupy lands inhabited by different cultures.
8 years ago the spotlight was on Australia & Aboriginal rights; 4 years ago there were probably some anti-Greek protests somewhere; In 4 years time the World will have a chance to take a Pop at Britain. Now its China's turn - If you choose to put yourself in the spotlight; you've got to take the Flak. ( Its a shame Israel hasn't been given the games so the World could show its support for the Palestinians).
I have a feeling, fengzaiji, that it is you who knows nothing about Tibet, it's history or it's culture. I suggest you save up & have the most wonderful holiday ever in Tibet.

It is time for the whole World to adopt the Law Of Common Decency. Basically you treat all others exactly the same way as you'd like to be treated. Live & let live.

Thanks for so many guys here loveing Tibet and caring about Tibetan life. Perhaps you really didn't know Tibet history and the present situation. Maybe reading more books on Tibet history, or going to Tibet by yourself, your lovely guys can get more proper perspective.

@ OperaPassion

Please don't claim a "Great China" - Britain tried doing the same 500 years ago & still today it has internal problems with Scotland, Ireland, Wales, & Cornwall; as well as repercussions from 500 years of international flag waving thuggery.

Tibet will always need China, probably more than China really needs Tibet - so why not do it amicably? It seems that it is doctrine that is the obstacle: but it shouldn't be when you consider that Buddhist philosophy & Tibetan culture are not far removed from a pure communist principle without the need of Party control.

Fascinating posts all, I only hope the album contains as much passion. Thanks Avax, for all that you do.

Many people try to blame others for their condition in life, the State, Religion, Humanists, emigrants, women, men, teens and children trying to find their path as best they can; I say, we all live here together.

it is well and good to recognize and speak up about injustices and inequalities in the world, even if there is nothing we can do about them in the present moment. I think to change the world, you need to start with yourself, do not blame others for your own shortcomings, educate, discipline, and train yourself, to overcome ignorance and obstacles in your life. Do not encourage others to do what you will not do. Lead and teach by example.

Glory and honor to all existent beings.
