Avaxhome Search Engine Add-on for Firefox

Now you can access Avaxhome search engine directly from Firefox browser.

My plugin is based on mattstan's add-on, which has been updated to work with new AvaxSearch engine.

After you download .xml file, you need to locate "searchplugins" folder inside a Firefox installation folder. I depends on machine configuration and Firefox version; but usually the path is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins". Once you located it, copy the xml file inside and restart the browser.

Well, I followed the instructions but don't see any difference. How does this work?
BTW, I've tried it with Firefox 3.6 Beta 5, and also with Firefox 3.5.6. If I look at my add-ons, there is no 'Avaxhome' plugin listed.
I'm sure it's me being a numpty. Any advice, anyone?

@ Lilywhite Lilith: You need to open up your Navigation Toolbar in firefox (right-click at the top and select it). Then you will be able to click a drop-down menu and select Avax from there. It's not necessarily already in the top-right corner, if you modified your toolbar in the past. Good luck.

drop the Avaxhome.xml into /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/searchplugins

Tip - If You place the Avaxhome.xml file in the searchplugins directory but after restarting Firefox it does not show up in the searchbar drop down menu - try this:

Close Firefox, move ALL search plugins (XML files) to another temporary location and restart Firefox. There should now be zero search plugins in the drop down menu.

Close Firefox again and move all search plugins (including Avaxhome.xml) back to the searchplugins directory - Restart Firefox
