Nina Simone - Gold (2003)
2CD | EAC-Rip | APE-image +cue +log +COVERS | June 9, 2022 | 745 Mb
Genre: Jazz | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Universal | Hotfile, Fileserve

When I first bought this CD I was not very familiar with the work of Nina Simone and so bought it as something of a 'taster'. After listening to it only once I begame a huge nina fan! There is such a broad range of work present on this CD, from tunes that most people would recognise such as the stirring and uplifting 'Feeling Good', the smooth jazz classic 'My Baby Just Cares for Me' to the dark and haunting 'I Put a Spell on You', which sends shivers down your spine, to a range of others which showcase Nina's unique and passionate voice. I know it sounds unlikely but there in not, in my opinion, a bad song on this CD. There is music to suit every emotion, from upbeat jazzy numbers such as 'I'm Gonna Leave you' to slow, brooding songs such as 'Don't Smoke in Bed'.

The Cockney Rebel - A Steve Harley Anthology (2006)
3CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | October 9, 2021 | 1.43 Gb
Genre: Rock | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: EMI | Hotfile, Fileserve

Steve Harley-Cockney Rebel might be the most under estimated artist in the world. It's hard to find a person who knows him. His two major hits were Sebastian and Make Me Smile while good, definitely not the best. This is the last compilation to date and the most complete. The selection is really good but as always there are missing songs. In my opinion his best albums were The Human Menagerie, The Psychomodo and The Best Years Of Our Lifes, in that order. I consider The Human Menagerie released under Cockney Rebel and unavailable for years in CD like one of the best albums I've ever heard. I find in Steve Harley-Cockney Rebel certain similarity with Bryan Ferry-Roxy Music. Usually i don't give 5 stars to an album but if you like the british music of the 70's this is an excellent compilation at great price.

Dannii Minogue - Girl (1997)
1CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | 8 Sep 2021 | 439.5 Mb
Genre: Pop, Dance | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Warner | Hotfile, Fileserve, Uploading

This album has to be one of the best albums that i have ever heard! if you are into dance tunes then you will love this album. On of the features that makes this album so amazing and different from other albums is the way that beautiful ballads are mixed together with cool catchy dance tunes to create brilliant songs e.g.'disrembererance' and 'Am I dreaming'. The album isn't all dance tunes though. You only have to listen to the beautiful 'it's amazing' to find that out and the very different 'everything changes underwater' (which i have to say spoils the album because all it is is talking and breathy vocals)'Heven can wait is a nice cool 60's style dancy song which makes you feel happy and so is 'Everything i wanted.

Enrique Iglesias - Vivir (1997)
1CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | April 23, 2022 | 505 Mb
Genre: Pop | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Universal | Hotfile, Fileserve, Uploading

For his sophomore work, Enrique Iglesias demonstrated a willingness to go beyond the predictable soft rock/pop balladry that marked his first album. Smart, considering that having good looks and a famous father can only carry one so far. On Vivir, Iglesias throws down the rock-guitar edge of "Volvere," on remembering a good love, and the rhythmic pop of "Revolucion," a brooding tune about defiance. Then there's the reggae-flavored "Lluvia Cae." On the ballad side, Iglesias injects emotional depth on "Miente," a passionate stance on refusing to accept the end. All these tunes are alternatively propelled by guitars, piano, and/or percussion.

Bob Dylan - The Very Best of Bob Dylan (2000)
2CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-tracks +cue +log +SCANS | 12 Jun 2022 | 1.11 Gb
Genre: Folk, Rock | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Columbia | Hotfile, Fileserve, Uploading

This is an excellent buy for new Dylan fans or people like me who are trying to replace their old vinyl collections with CD's. Of course, you can always quibble about some of the selections, but overall the songs are well chosen. Another nice feature, at least to my way of thinking, is that the tracks are arranged chronologically.

Easy Star All-Stars - Radiodread (2006)
1CD | EAC-Rip | WAVPack-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | September 4, 2021 | 490 Mb
Genre: Reggae, Dub | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Easy Star | Hotfile, Fileserve, Uploading

The Easy Star All-Stars have taken the same magic that rendered "Dub Side of the Moon" a phenomenon and applied it to another of the twentieth century's greatest recordings: "OK Computer." Most tributes phonographically copy the original band or fall embarrassingly short in the attempt. Both types are dull. A good tribute pays homage to the parent while simultaneously making a fresh interpretation. "Radiodread" accomplishes this goal in a meaningful way. The primary genre here is roots reggae with tones of dub, ska, rock and soul.

Brenda Lee - Grandma What Great Songs You Sang! [1959] & Miss Dynamite [1960] (2004)

This CD features Brenda's first two albums - "Grandma, What Great Songs you Sang" from 1959 and "Miss Dynamite", the UK title for her eponymous US release in 1960. Both were produced by Owen Bradley and this reissue has been mastered from the original stereo recordings.

Bobby Vinton - All-Time Greatest Hits (2003)
1CD | EAC-Rip | APE-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | October 28, 2021 | 409,90 Mb
Genre: Pop | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Varese Sarabande | Hotfile, Fileserve

This is a superb collection of Vinton's most productive years at Epic, and the most complete such greatest hits disc on the market today. All of his major singles are here, except for 1964's "Clinging Vine," and his 1974 comeback on ABC, "My Melody of Love." The latter may be a casualty of inter-label licensing, but the omission of the former is mysterious. Sound quality is excellent, with finely produced true stereo throughout.

Joe Pass - Guitar Virtuoso [4 CD Box Set] (1997)
4CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | November 18, 2021 | 1,41 Gb
Genre: Jazz, Bop | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Pablo | Hotfile, Fileserve

Guitar Virtuoso distills the work Joe Pass did for Pablo records and producer Norman Granz between 1973 and 1992 into one terrific 4 CD package. Disc one culls some of his finest solo studio performances. Disc two places him in small group studio contexts, including duets with guitarist Herb Ellis, a trio with Oscar Peterson on piano and Ray Brown on bass, and a quartet with Duke Ellington on piano, Brown on bass, and Louis Bellson on drums. Disc three consists of live solo and group performances. Disc four features Pass accompanying vocalists Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, plus duet tracks with guitarist John Pisano, tenor saxophonist Zoot Sims, and bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pederson.

Various Artists - Legends Of Country Blues [Box set, Original Recording Remastered] (2003)
5CD | EAC-Rip | APE-image +cue +log +SCANS | September 23, 2021 | 531,42 Mb
Genre: Blues | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Jsp Records | Hotfile, Turbobit, Fileserve

JSP's Legends of Country Blues compiles five CDs of performances by Son House, Skip James, Bukka White, Tommy Johnson, and Ishman Bracey. These historic prewar recordings have been remastered, and according to the packaging, feature "unprecedented listening quality." While that claim is a bit of a stretch, the majority of this material does sound great. Unlike other packages of this type, the liner notes are informative, listing personnel, dates, and concise history without going on ad nauseam. As an extra bonus this is a budget-priced set, making it highly recommended, especially for the blues novice.

Destiny's Child - The Writing's On The Wall (1999)
2CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-image +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | July 27, 2022 | 649,77 Mb
Genre: R&B | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Sony | Hotfile, Turbobit, Fileserve

Not even Dionne Warwick and her mind-reading friends could have predicted that, over the course of two CDs, Destiny's Child would become one of the most successful girl groups on the planet. But successful this Houston trio is, and their sophomore CD shows why. Yes, the lineup changes as often as lead singer Beyonce's hairstyle, but fun, disposable pop/R&B needn't be rooted in permanence, and DC is mad fun and mad catchy to boot. With the assistance of hitmakers Shek'spere and Kandi Burruss, Destiny's Child trade in effervescent, hip-shaking, finger-wagging, 'you-go-girl, kick-him-to-the-curb' anthems.

Dixie Chicks - Top Of The World Tour [Live] (2003)
2CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-tracks +cue +log +SCANS | November 21, 2021 | 688,84 Mb
Genre: Country | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Sony | Hotfile, Turbobit, Fileserve

Recorded during their controversial 2003 tour, these two discs romp through an ample sampling of hits ("Wide Open Spaces," "There's Your Trouble," "Goodbye Earl," "Travelin' Soldier") as well as beloved album cuts ("Hello Mr. Heartache," "Some Days You Gotta Dance"). Twangy and cheeky all the way, the group rides an energy wave that continues through the stunning two-song encore of "Top of the World" and "Sin Wagon." Yet as powerful as the full-band performances are, the trio's true essence emerges during the acoustic moments--"White Trash Wedding," "Ready to Run," and "Lil' Jack Slade" among them--as well as the Texas shuffler "Hello Mr. Heartache."

Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come [Deluxe Edition] (2003)
2CD | EAC-Rip | FLAC-tracks +cue +log +Booklet/SCANS | August 5, 2021 | 611,90 Mb
Genre: Reggae | RAR 3% Rec. | Label: Hip-O Records | Hotfile, Turbobit, Fileserve

The original version of this film soundtrack is the single most influential reggae album in the genre's history, and the most listenable reggae record from beginning to end. That's always been a bit surprising, given that the film's director selected the tracks in a harried weekend of picking-and-choosing among songs that struck a personal resonance. It's doubly amazing that the songs fit the film so perfectly, and that Chris Blackwell was able to weave the tracks from various artists into such a perfect, cohesive album. This is the essential introduction to reggae music, and a collection whose spirit and musicality simply never ceases to amaze.
