Master thief Corey (Alain Delon) is fresh out of prison. But instead of toeing the line of law-abiding freedom, he finds his steps leading back to the shadowy world of crime, crossing paths with a notorious escapee (Gian Maria Volonté) and an alcoholic ex-cop (Yves Montand). As the unlikely trio plots a heist against impossible odds, their trail is pursued by a relentless inspector (André Bourvil), and fate begins to seal their destinies. Taking its title from Buddhist lore, Jean-Pierre Melville’s Le Cercle rouge combines honorable anti-heroes, coolly atmospheric cinematography, and breathtaking set pieces to create a masterpiece of crime cinema. (-DVD cover)
Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha drew a circle with a piece of red chalk and said: "When men, even unknowingly, are to meet one day, whatever may befall each, whatever their diverging paths, on the said day, they will inevitably come together in the red circle." (opening credits of the movie)
Corey is a cool, aristocratic thief, released from prison on the same day that Vogel, a murderer, escapes from the custody of the patient Mattei, a cat-loving police superintendent. Corey robs Rico, his mob boss, then enlists Vogel and an ex-police sharpshooter, Jansen, in a jewel heist. While Corey is harried by the vengeful Rico, Mattei pressures Santi, a nightclub owner and pimp, to help him trap the thieves. Over all hangs the judgment of the police directeur, that every man is guilty. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0065531/plotsummary)
Crime cinema has never been so meticulously and coolly executed. Taciturn thief Alain Delon (intense and dapper in trenchcoat and fedora) and escaped prisoner Gian Maria Volonte cross paths as if by fate, bound by saving each other's life, and join with disgraced ex-cop Yves Montand for their next job: a daring jewel robbery. Le Cercle Rouge is the ultimate expression of the romantic doom that Jean-Pierre Melville established in his masterpieces Bob Le Flambeur and Le Samourai. The centerpiece heist, a wordless 20-minute sequence with masked men communicating in codified gestures, is a tour de force of cinematic efficiency that tops even Rififi in its celebration of criminal skill and nerve. Melville's cool detachment doesn't allow us to really warm up to these uncompromising pros, but his cinematic precision is spellbinding and his unforgiving world of loyalty, professionalism, sacrifice, and codes of honor is an irresistible underworld fantasy. ! JPMelville-LCR.part01.rar: Le CRC des données compressées a échoué dans Jean-Pierre Melville-Le Cercle rouge (1970).avi. Le volume est corrompu
! JPMelville-LCR.part02.rar: Le CRC a échoué dans le fichier crypté Jean-Pierre Melville-Le Cercle rouge (1970).avi (Le mot de passe est peut-être incorrect ?)
Solution ????
Kikinet, worried, bpesti...
During data transfers over internet most of the time you may encounter data corruption (data loss)... this is a common problem. That is why I always put "recovery record" in my rar-archives... so that your downloads wouldnt be wasted...
You should first simply try to repair corrupted parts if there were any :
WinRAR Menu - Tools - Repair Archive
(and dont forget to use fixed-rar-parts during unrar operation)
worried, you may find a new upload of Pietro Germi's "Sedotta e abbandonata" on page:
http://www.avaxhome.ws/video/sedotta2_by_germi.html
Sorry for the trouble... that is completely out of my control.
Greetings.
Everything is corrupted, so please upload that movie again, with classical Rar files, as usual for everything on Avaxhome. Thanks.
Kikinet, as far as I know, data loss occurs during my uploads to RS and/or during your downloads from RS. It is not the WinRAR program that causes data-corruption. Data loss happens during internet data transfers... am I wrong ?... if so please advise what to do...
>
>why you're doing such a thing, which is always corrupting the files !
>
...? what do I do to "corrupt the files" ?...
>
>Everything is corrupted, so please upload that movie again, with classical Rar files..

I use latest version of WinRAR... what is "classical Rar files" ? please tell me which program to use ?
I always put recovery-record in my rar-archives... so that you could recover data loss that may occur during u/l and/or d/l... (many times I myself dowmload DVDs from Avax-pages and after finish downloading I realize that some parts were corrupted and the worst thing... there were no recovery-record included... so... all 4.3GB download becomes all wasted...)
ok... lets be calm and decide what to do ... to solve such problems...
best regards...
worried, please read the comments on the first publication page of Germi's film:
http://www.avaxhome.ws/video/sedotta_by_germi.html
and if you want the film please visit:
http://www.avaxhome.ws/video/sedotta2_by_germi.html
bpesti, you dont have to re-type password each time... you may copy and paste it...
data corruption is VERY RARE, and if ever it would be happen, we could tell you exactly what file would be maybe corrupted.
Hello Kikinet,
>
>RAR files, WITHOUT the recovery option
>
Do you mean that, when people put recovery-record in their archives... the archive gets corrupted... is it really so ?
>
>data corruption is VERY RARE, and if ever it would be happen, we could tell you exactly
>what file would be maybe corrupted
>
if I didnt put recovery-record... and if "very rare corruption" happens... what would you do... and what would I do... reupload that corrupted part again ?... do you think that I should keep all the movie-rar-parts forever in my PC, that are uploaded till now... which are about 165 movies and are more than 350 GB... ? in case that maybe one day someone would need them...
not just me... many people puts recovery-record in their archives to recover data corruption... I still think that it is more reasonable...
best regards...
What you did is just crap : it needs so much time to recover the files, and most of time it's impossible to do that. So what's the point ? You just want to have some Rapidshare premium points and you don't care about people who are downloading your files ?
You know what ? If regular Rar archives were corrupted as often as you think, we would know it, because hundreds, maybe thousands files are uploaded every day by Avaxhome users ! You're just stupid in that way.
>it needs so much time to recover the files,
>
how much time... minutes? ... hours?... to recover... to repair a corrupted part ...
>most of time it's impossible to do that
>
ok tell me how many of my 165 movies... it was impossible to recover... and peoples' downloads became wasted...
>You just want to have some Rapidshare premium points
>
I would upload britney-spears-clips and hollywood-junk if prem.points were my purpose :)
>you don't care about people who are downloading your files ?
>
no I DO care... and I re-rip and re-upload whenever I believe that it is necessary... one may look at the comments on the bottom of the page :
http://www.avaxhome.ws/video/sedotta_by_germi.html
>do it more than a few hours just after your upload
>
http://rapidshare.com/files/6699946/JPMelville-LCR.part01.rar
look at the file number of this part
as one can easily see RS file number (upload counter) for this movie is 6,699,946
and today RS file counter is around 20,700,000 ... that means this movie was uploaded 3-4 months ago ... before those ftp2share-days had begun... and during the ftp2share days I've never published a single movie in either Avax pages or somewhere else... (what happened to my prem. points then :))
>You don't have any excuse ...
>
yep :)) this is the only part that you are right...
What a shame, isn't it ?
With Winrar on a P3, it needed 15 mn to recover the part01. So obviously I cancelled. And it's impossible to do it automatically for all files.
Maybe you think it's a funny game ?
I visit avaxhome pages everyday to download your wonderful movies
I admire you but you dont know how to talk to certain people (some people pfff)
keep up the good work and ignore those stupid jerks
a bad day for downloading, 11 of 15 files were corrupted, but the
repair-option corrected that easily!. Some days ago I downloaded
this Sedotta e Abbandonata movie, without any defects. Corrupted
files are quite common and, for me, the best reason to use rar-ed
files for the download is this special repair-option. In case you
have a corrupted split-file, the only (time-consuming) option would
be to download again.
More french movies with english subs, if you have, please!
Merci beaucoup!
Thanks to the recovery option that you put in this film. Parts 1 and 7 were corrupted in my case and I easily fixed them in seconds, thanks to recovery records. Only an idiot would claim that recovery options were useless.
This guy is a complete jerkoff!
It must be some kind of crap CPU if it took 15minutes to repair a corrupt file!
I have never once had an unrecoverable rar file and have repaired a few but it is no problem.
Keep doing what you do and yes...ignore the idiots.
Fa.
Fa,
>some kind of crap CPU if it took 15minutes to repair a corrupt file!
>
not a crap CPU... it was just a dirty lie...
I myself tested a 100MB-corrupt-rar-part on a P3 667MHz system (i820 / 256MB RDRAM / Win98) and it took 41 seconds to recover... another one P3 500MHz (BX440 / 128MB SDRAM / Win98) it took 76 seconds... some people are very "strange"... really...

I hope that FNB.47 don't mind, so I have downloaded the archives, repaired them, assembled the movie, than split it again in 15 rar files, but without repair options and password. You can download them from here:
