Theo Angelopoulo’s haunting, mesmerizing Landscape in the Mist is a metaphysical road movie –the story of two children and their determined quest. One evening Voula an Alexander run away from home a sneak on board an express train to search for their father. They have never met him. But their mother has told them – “to give them something to dream about” – that he lives in Germany. The children begin a journey that will be paved with disillusioning father figures and magnificent, unsettling sights…a journey into the mist. From one of Europe’s great visionary directors comes a contemporary odyssey reverberating with echoes of the past: a Modern Greek myth.

«Before I saw Angelopoulos's film, I, who had been brought up without a father, would never have thought that I would discover him in the image of a tree. This last scene of Landscape in the Mist was a revelation for me. It is a unique, one could say 'Japanese,' moment, which surprised me, because I had always thought of the Greek tradition as exclusively one of stones, rocks, and gods. I saw in that scene a challenge to every inhibition and authority. This is why I would use Bergman's words to say that the goal of cinema is to bring the dream back into our life, and thus help us to confront life's difficulties.»

I hope to bring all Angelopoulos films in the future.I will upload one by one.But his recent films will come first because they're easier to understand and because of ...Tonino Guerra.I'm a big fan of Tonino Guerra when I saw Antonioni's films and Taviani brothers.
