"Thou shalt not steal" - but in this case the 'theft' is of a child by her real mother, who then finds herself emotionally unable to cope with the responsibility, while the stable and loving family that brought the child up are distraught. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0094989/plotsummary)
In this particular episode, involving the commandment "Thou shalt not steal," a young mother tries to reclaim her true daughter from her grandmother-cum-legal mother, and the drama that develops as they try to work out what was hidden long before to avoid scandal. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0094989/usercomments)
Of course a huge issue involves who rightfully should be mother to the young girl... is it by blood, legality, comfort, choice? Any of those? And who stole from whom here, anyway, the grandmother from the mother, the mother from the grandmother, or even simply societal decency? Furthermore, what else is really being taken here? There's also issues of pride, a missing childhood, and an entire relationship ruined. (http://imdb.com/title/tt0094989/usercomments)
The filial love pushed to the extreme is the main point of one of the most despairing episodes of the whole series. Painted in soft tones of a warm color photography "Dekalog 7", a sorrowful appeal against the theft of maternal affections, a touching scream of desperation against every form of domestic psychological abuse, describes the emotional journey of lonely souls towards a past immersed in voids of time and memory, thwarted by walls of self-referential egoism and full of wrong choices due to scarce sense of consciousness. dreaming, you'll find "Mamma Roma" here:
http://www.avaxhome.ws/misc_and_web/mamma_roma_by_pasolini.html
There are some other movies by Pasolini in "my collection". pls take a look at the bottom of the page:
http://www.avaxhome.ws/video/id_donna_by_antonioni.html
(except "Salo"... which you can easily find it anywhere... unfortunately Pasolini is known by his "worst" film, most widely (imho))
Thanks for your help. Yes I had your list in id_donna saved on my favorites anyway and saw his others. It was actually moved (to here if anyone interested http://www.avaxhome.ws/misc/mamma_roma_by_pasolini.html).
A few years ago, I used to think Salo was just for shock tactic and never thought of it much (thought it was his worst), but if you look at life around yourself a little more closely, under the skin it is all shockingly absurd and cruel too, as well as wonderful. Lets say he is deep in that too despite initial appearances.
Which brings me to a very important question: Is there a more comprehensive listing of your posts which includes all your posts?
Thanks for everything you are doing. Many appreciate it and will do so through many future years as you spread around a bit of quality around the world. :)
Hello "dreaming", thanks for the correction yes there are no "misc_and_web" section anymore... all "misc_and_web"'s should read just "misc"...
>but if you look at life around yourself a little more closely...
>
yeah :) thats what I was trying to do for all my life... with all my heart... :) ... anyway let me repeat myself, I watched "Salo", "Arabian Nights" and ""Canterbury Tales" just once (in theatres, decades ago) and never thought watching them again. Pasolini movies published in my list reflects my-Pasolini-films-preferential-order. There will be couple of others to follow... but not "Salo", "Arabian Nights" or "Canterbury Tales"...
>Is there a more comprehensive listing of your posts which includes all your posts?

No. I've posted only on Avax-pages. I started posting movies on Avax-pagex on Jun.3rd 2006 and today I published/reached 192#-Kieslowski/Dekalog 10... thats all. (But I am planning to post some 2000-3000 movies in 10 years :))
