The installation does fail as soon as the online email / code verification procedure has been completed. I may be wrong but the CD-ROM protection does not seem to have been removed before creating the *.ngr image.
I would also like to notice that the first attempt to delete the program lead to an indication of a virus-like record (Avira AntiVir, standard settings) and an error message (saying that the procedure failed for "unknown reasons"). After I deleted the suspicious file, the deinstalation procedure succeeded.

CD does not work, but you can open the startfile in the installdir and that's it.
1. install it
2. go to x:install_dir/Macmillan/Aviation English/
3. start aviation.swf file with Adobe Flash Player or SWF Player or...
4. enjoy it
