Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL, or "MoFi") is a company that produces audiophile releases of classic CDs and vinyl records.
Many commercial CDs undergo dynamic range compression in order to sound "louder" when played on radio or low-end systems. Some consider this detrimental to the sound quality when reproduced on high-quality equipment. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab releases are highly desirable due to their attention to detail concerning the audio mastering process. Some of the techniques used are half-speed mastering and pressing gold-plated CDs. MFSL also releases record albums meant to be played at 45 RPM instead of the standard 33? RPM, for better sound quality. These albums must be released on two or three discs, as less music can be held at increased speed.
MFSL only acquires the license to reproduce releases for a specific time period, and because of the limited quantities produced, they are highly sought after.
The Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Philosophy
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's ongoing quest is to deliver the foremost sounding audio entertainment software that technological innovation can provide. From our first UHQR™ vinyl LP to our latest Ultradisc UHR™ SACD, we have been and will remain a steadfast innovator in the audiophile frontier. We further believe that technological development serves best when accompanied by a profound awareness and appreciation for the elusive magic and mystery that comprises music itself. Our greatest hope is that our products will serve as conduits for ears ands souls to experience premium, pure, natural sound reproduction of diverse, pre-eminent original master recordings across the entire musical spectrum.

A reproduction on CD of the Beatles' fourth UK album, as released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Thermal printed legend on Silver CD-R disc looks like a "silk screened, factory pressed" CD.
These are transferred from the vinyl releases. Only the smallest amount of noise reduction necessary has been applied.
An excellent sounding recording, when compared to the actual Mobile Fidelity releases. Very clear, crisp stereo.
Please note that while every effort was made to ensure this recordings sounded as good as possible, and only virgin vinyl was used during the making of this CD, it is not to the audio standard of the CD only MFSL releases.
This release is most likely to appeal to completists, but I started posting with the excellent first four Beatles albums and so will continue until all the MFSL versions have been posted here.
While I’m not convinced there is a vast difference between this MFSL version and it’s official counterpart I have uploaded it in the interest of completing the MFSL set.
As always, HQ scans of the original artwork is included in the archive.

You're very welcome!
For those interested in The Beatles, I have literally hundreds of bootlegs of theirs. I want to finish posting the MFSL versions of their albums, which if I'm not wrong all their works are now presented here on Avax in MFSL format by myself and other members.
For those who've followed my posts I will be posting the last volume of the "Studio 2 Sessions at Abbey Road" (Vol.4.) which will complete that set.
After that I will be posting various bootlegs from my personal collection, all of course in the highest quality CD images with full HQ artwork.
I can't help you there I'm afraid, I didn't buy the anniversary set as I had this album on too many other formats and twice over on CD as it was at the time of release and so I couldn't justify getting that too. :(
What you have to remember with these MFSL versions of Beatles albums is that they are all transferred from vinyl, although virgin vinyl, and so there is some vinyl noise evident in all the albums.
I'm still not convinced there is much difference between this and the official original EMI release.
The difference was far more obvious on the first four albums I posted, these sounded incredibly superior to the original releases.
However, as I mentioned in my main post text I continued to post all the MFSL versions until every Beatles album was posted here in MFSL format in order to complete the set.
I think MFSL just concentrated on their studio albums proper and so didn't bother with Hey Jude (which is essentially a 'best of' album)
'The compilation was originally only released in the United States, although it was a popular import in the UK. Due to its popularity as an import, Parlophone finally released Hey Jude in Britain in 1979. (If a fan who owned all twelve studio British Beatles albums augmented his or her collection with Hey Jude, Magical Mystery Tour, A Collection of Beatles Oldies, and the British version of Rarities, his or her collection would include every official Beatles song, although a handful of officially released alternate takes would still be missing.) Until the release of The Beatles 1967-1970 in 1973, Hey Jude was the only way to own the extremely popular full-length "Hey Jude" single on LP, or in a stereo mix. The songs "Lady Madonna", "Rain", and "Revolution" also appeared for the first time in stereo on this album.'
