Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson - Thick as a Brick 2: Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock? (2012)
EAC Rip | FLAC (image+.cue+log) - 302 MB | Scans PNG | MP3 CBR 320 kbps (LAME 3.98) - 123 MB
Genre: rock, prog-rock | RAR 5% Rec. | Label: Chrysalis | CAT #6387262 0

Some 40 years after the release of Jethro Tull's prog landmark Thick as a Brick, chief Tull Ian Anderson crafts a sequel. Sensibly titled Thick as a Brick 2, this 2012 set brings us up to speed with the life of Gerald Bostock, who was a mere lad of 10 at the time of TAAB but is now an adult shouldering a myriad of responsibilities. His disappointments and mild triumphs make him a different man than he was, yet underneath it all he's still that recognizable child, and the same can be said for Anderson's music: it's cleaner and streamlined, not as indulgent or idealistic as his younger work, boasting a more sensible structure, yet it still bears all of his signatures from the flute to rambling folk-rock.

Nirvana ‎– Bleach (20TH Anniversary) 1989
XLD Rip | Flac (Image) + Cue + Log >537mb | MP3@320kbps >166mb | Scans 300dpi
Genre: Grunge | Label: Sup Pop Records | Catalog#: 5051865614623 | Originally Released: 1989

Bleach is the debut studio album by the American rock band Nirvana, released in June 1989 through the independent record label Sub Pop. The main recording sessions took place at Reciprocal Recording in Seattle, Washington between December 1988 and January 1989. Nirvana songwriter Kurt Cobain felt pressured to create music for Bleach that conformed to the grunge music style favored by his record label and the contemporary Seattle music scene. The album is regarded as quite negative and bleak; Cobain has claimed that most of the lyrics were written the night before recording while he was feeling "pissed off", and that he did not regard them highly. The recording of the album was financed by Jason Everman, who was credited as a guitarist but did not play on any songs.

"The Life and Times of Steve Marriott" is a compelling documentary about one of rock's most dynamic, exciting, and sadly; unsung heroes of rock and roll. Showcasing revelatory interviews with Humble Pie's Peter Frampton, Jerry Shirley, and Greg Ridley, the Black Crowes's Chris Robinson, Rick Nielsen and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, John Waite, Bad Company/Free drummer Simon Kirke, Quiet Riot's Kevin Dubrow, Ricky Byrd and Marriott historian John Heller among others, the documentary vividly tells the tale of Steve's tragically short life via the use of previously unseen photos, memorabilia, and home movies. Rare fiery performance footage of The Small Faces and Humble Pie frames the action, drawing the viewer closer to this wonderful and underrated artist.

Opossum were coming from the greater area of Warburg, a city situated in the east of Westphalia. As precursor of Morpheus they were playing jazz-rock with progressive elements, slightly comparable to the sound of Soft Machine or Colosseum. Thanks to their abilities as musicians Opossum acquired very fast a good reputation in the greater area of Warburg and beyond. They performed with Xhol and Sameti at the Ruhr University of Bochum and with Tangerine Dream and Kraan at the summer festival at the University of Bonn.

Spooky Tooth - Ceremony (1969) [SHM CD]
rock | 1cd | Eac Rip | Flac + Cue + Log | HQ covers
Island UICY-20034 | 325Mb

This is unlike any other release by an English band normally rooted in the blues. Think of it as Spooky Tooth's version of Concerto for Group and Orchestra by Deep Purple. After two or three promising blues-based rock releases, one member of the band somehow convinces the others to go for a wildly ambitious, experimental concept album. Jon Lord persuaded Deep Purple to dive into the deep end, and Gary Wright got Spooky Tooth to welcome Frenchman Pierre Henry for this electronic mass. Wright left the band after Ceremony and Lord never had the same influence on Purple again as Ritchie Blackmore led them to heavy metal glory.

Babylon Zoo - The Boy With The X-Ray Eyes (1996)
EAC | FLAC | Image (Cue&Log) ~ 365 Mb (incl 5%) | Mp3 (CBR320/Stereo) ~ 131 Mb (incl 5%) | Scans ~ 122 Mb
Genre: Alternative Rock | Label: EMI | # 7243 8 37204 2 2 | Time: 00:54:46

For some reason -- perhaps it was because it was used in a television commercial -- Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman" became the biggest British single of the first quarter of 1996. A bizarre, tuneless collage of hip-hop rhythms, techno keyboards and alternative guitars, the song sounded distinctive, but it didn't have any tangible hook to make it memorable. And Babylon Zoo's debut album, The Boy With the X-Ray Eyes, suffers from the same problem. Throughout the album, Jas Mann -- who, for all intents and purposes, is Babylon Zoo -- tries a vast array of modern rock styles, attempting to fuse them together into a daring, progressive whole. However, none of his songs ever gel and Mann only sounds pretentious, not ambitious.

Stormbringer was the ninth studio album by Deep Purple, originally released in November 1974. (and featuring the Mark 3 line-up of the band that included David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes on bass) this album, much more prominently featured the soul and funk elements that were only hinted at on previous album Burn.
