I still remember when I first heard the sound on an oud. It was played by Anouar Brahem on Jan Garbarek's album Madar. I found the instrument absolutely fascinating, particularly on the one solo track called Baia. Ever since, I have been adicted to the sound of the oud. Fortunately I didn't have to rely on Mr. Brahem alone to feed my habit. Rabih Abou-Khalil with his prolific output has made sure that I'm never short of oud music. So, when fadoze seeded this solo performance on dime, I just had to download it - and I had to share it.

This performance is one of a series of short concerts that are part of this year's "Festival de Wallonie". faduz has decided to remove both the radio announdements and Abou-Khalil's introduction of the pieces but has included them as "extras". I felt it that this arrangement would deprive listeners of Rabih's sense of humour and have put the introductions back into their place. In the end, you can decide for youself which tracks, and in what sequence, you want to listen to - or burn on a CD. The original package included artwork produced by faduz. I have added my own version of a front cover and intray.
