Jethro Tull Aqualung Classic Records Needle Drop
Classic-Rock | Vinyl Needle Drop | Flac 24bit 96khz | 880mb's
1971| Publisher: Classic Records | English | MediaFire.com

Jethro Tull is a rock/prog group with many classic recordings. Aqualung ,1971, is considered by some to be their finest lp. Featuring the hit songs "Aqualung", "Locomotive Breath", and "Hymn 43" among others. Classic records, who mastered this release from the Original Master Tapes, is a record mastering company specializing in audiophile Vinyl pressings [like this 200gram 33rpm example] , using a custom all tube cutting process from the Original Master Tapes when possible [this might be every time, I'll have to check, though its the case with all the ones I have that they are mastered from the Original Master Tapes]. They [CR] seek to perfectly replicate the original vinyl pressings in both sound and asthetics [cover art, liner notes, even paper texture, down to a creepy level of detail usually], while eliminating surface noise and gaining new clarity and quality of acoustics compared to standard releases. Very similar to MFSL in almost every meaningful regard, vinyl only obviously.

Yes, I know this is a big file, if you don't like that, please, complain to someone who cares about what you say. Same with my choice of upload sites! To the people who like this, thank you, I have all Led Zeppelin and some Who stuff in this format, and thanks again for supporting these high quality, but crazy big, uploads!!! Some cover scans and a lp center pic are included. Sorry, I don't know a pressing number for any of these lp's.

Aqualung is the fourth studio album by the rock band Jethro Tull, released in 1971. The first side of the LP contains a series of six character sketches, including two sketches of people of questionable repute (title character Aqualung and Cross-Eyed Mary) and two autobiographical tracks including "Cheap Day Return", written by band leader Ian Anderson while returning from a visit to his critically ill father. The overall message of the lyrics on the second side is said to be "pro-God but anti-church", and makes the statement that organized religion can actually restrict a person's relationship with their God instead of enhancing it. Anderson has denied any attempt to create a concept album (see below).

Record details: Classic Records 200 gram Quiex SVP 33 rpm records. No equalizers, de-clickers used in capturing from vinyl. Audio captured to 24 bit, 96 KHZ and encoded to .flac for ease of transport. NO CLIPPING, hence the somewhat low volume. [this is a good thing, if your wondering] No real pops or clicks to speak of, at all, which is great.

Wow! This is OiNK+Demonid all over again!

Do you have any more hi-res / needle rips?
Posted By: AdmiralHalsey... Date: 30 Mar 2008 05:33:17
Wow, no one at all wants this. Guess I greatly over estimated the demand for high res audiophile needle drops. What a waste of 5 hours of uploading time lol. To answer your question felix, yes, I have every led zeppelin release, the who's tommy and quadrophenia, first 4 black sabbath's, yes fragile, and a few others in needle drop format. Oh yeah, and ziggy stardust and Pink floyd are MFSL UHQR needle drops, but just cd resolution on those.

No one? I downloaded it. Note also that the number of comments rarely reflect the number of dowloads, since Avax is quite buggy when it comes to registering feed-back. I find that generally only one in ten of my comments get registered, and I am good at giving comments. Also: there will be people downloading this two years from now if it's still up, so don't be diheartened by getting only one comment. Audiophiles will find this, and download, and some already have (and may even have passed it on to their friends).

Would you mind posting Led Zeppelin IV in needle drop format? It's the only LZ I like, but then again I like that one a lot. I would also love to hear the Ziggy and Pink Floyd needle drops you have, and if you ever come across Pink Floyd MFSL high-res needledrops ... Mmmmmmmm .... delightful!

PS: Did you add this post to the audiophile section in addition to the lossless section?

To AdmiralHalsey:
First let me thank you for making a high resolution copy from this audiophile record!
I have a technical question for you:
You have encoded this record in a 24-bit/96 kHz PCM signal. These signals are used for stereo DVD-Audio tracks.
Do I need to decode this for CD or DVD audio???
Your reply is much appreciated!!!

Win amp will play these .flac files if you enable the option, or foobar will play them without enabling any special options. As long as your soundcard supports 24bit/96khz, then your good I think. Of course you'll have to downsample them to 16bit to burn them to a cd, or convert them to mpl for dvd audio. I"m not too sure how those work, since I don't mess with them, these files tend to stay on my computer as .flac files.

Ziggy_Ping_83, I think you just need to re download those two pieces, not wait for someone to re-up them, It seems to work for the few hundred other people who got it so far. If not, pm me and I'll redo the whole thing for you, since I doubt re-rarring it would work out.

Well, 19 months anyway... :-)

Thanks for the long ago upload, as I only found this site a couple of days ago I wasn't around to thank you then. However I do appreciate it as this is one of my favorite albums & this looks like a very nice version of it.
