The year is 1919 - After the revolution, during the civil war, the Soviet forces defended the new regime from foreign intervention and foreign-backed White (counter-revolutionary) forces at times on 21 fronts. This is the story of the opposing forces on one front, where Hungarian volunteers had joined the defense. The place is an abandoned monastery used by each side -when it captured the position- as a field hospital and garrison.

In 1919, Hungarian Communists aid the Bolsheviks' defeat of Czarists, the Whites. Near the Volga, a monastery and a field hospital are held by one side then the other. Captives are executed or sent running naked into the woods. Neither side has a plan, and characters the camera picks out soon die. A White Cossack officer kills a Hungarian and is executed by his own superiors when he tries to rape a milkmaid. At the hospital, White officers order nurses into the woods, dressed in finery, to waltz. A nurse aids the Reds, then they accuse her of treason for following White orders. Red soldiers walk willingly, singing, into an overwhelming force. War seems chaotic and arbitrary. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/plotsummary)

This is not soviet realism. This is a stylized account of the dehumanization of war. You cannot indulge in sentimental tears after seeing this. You can only shake your head at man's stupidity and inhumanity. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/usercomments)

This is the greatest war movie I've ever seen. The two sides are nearly indistinguishable. The tide of advantage goes back and forth, back and forth throughout the movie. Fortunes changes without notice. And at the end, the only thing left to do is raise the sword, salute the cause, and charge straight into death. War is pointless and savage, from first to last. Beautiful filmmaking. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/usercomments)

Jancso could be said to side with the communists (the "Red" of the title) - I'd say he depicts them in a fairer light - but he shows both sides to be brutes. Both roam the hills routinely executing the enemy, those they suspect to be the enemy, or any hapless peasants that they may cross paths with. All in all, there is a very detached view presented of both sides, showing that war makes monsters and idiots of men no matter what their ideology. Very interesting and well worth a look for those that like a little thought put into their cinema. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/usercomments)

This is a beautifully shot and sparse film that is filled with long takes reminiscent of the Russian Tarkovsky. The topic deals with the Russian revolution and the madness it spawned in warfare, namely from the Hungarian point of view, whose volunteers numbered some 48,000. It is difficult to understand what motived each character, for people are shot indiscriminately, they are freed in just the same manner and that is the nature of battle in this intense artistic film. The ending is one of the most cinematic moments ever, for those looking for a film with battles, this is not it, it's more visual..... (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/usercomments)

This is a great, great film. It's very unusual and not geared to all tastes. It follows differing groups of soldiers as they fight each other and take prisoners, or evade capture, or hide in villages. There is no plot. You simply follow one group of soldiers until something happens and you follow another group. You feel sympathy for the soldiers; until they commit a heinous act, and you hate them. It's really about the arbitrarious of war and how it reduces men to animals. Not for the faint of heart, it is nonetheless the best antiwar movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061537/usercomments)

I really do not know what concept of spam you have. If an issue can be raised about a conflict between this community, hopefully to construct a solution, it MUST be done. Its our obligation as uploaders and downloaders to perfect, how illegal this file-sharing hobby might be, the system for everyone, not just those that seldom post.
If you do not think likewise, at least a bit, then I must believe spiderman´s pretext for not posting here anymore: that is, you run a lucrative mirroring posting site of your own, through oxyshare, depositfiles, or tryor, and have avaxhome as a face-mask to attract potential uploaders (whom you latter mirror).
I hope I am wrong.
I hope you give this impass the importance it deserves, for this site leads the way in what file-sharing is concerned.

Hi!
I've got a problem. I downloaded the first two parts of the film, but when I open the
Jancso-RW.part1.rar file, it's a large file, but the file is empty. When I try to decompress it, the total commander send a warning that the rar.exe file is not working. Naturally my rar.exe is working perfect, I can decompress with it other rar files. May be I do it in a wrong way? Or this is the normal form? I'd tried both source. How can I get the whole file? Download all the part and then try to decompress it, or rename, or what?

Plz help me!
