W.A. Mozart - Piano Concertos [2005] [11 Disc Set] (PS3 SACD rip)

Mozart composed 23 piano concertos during the most important creative period of his life (1773-1791). Prior to 1773, keyboard concertos were by no means uncommon: Johann Sebastian Bach composed a number of works for harpsichord and orchestra, many of which were simply arrangements of existing pieces for violin, whilst his eldest son Carl Philipp Emmanuel so favored the new fortepiano that he composed over 40 concertos for this instrument and wrote an admired treatise on the art of its playing. However, Mozart was the first composer to explore the dynamic and expressive possibilities of the fortepiano and, as Charles Rose has written, he made the entrance of the soloist in the first movements "an event, like the arrival of a new character on the stage."

The Surround sound master was generated from original PCM stereo recordings using SpatialSonics process which was analogically transfered to DSD using GENEX and PYRAMIX systems. I confirm that Part 8 of disc 2 (downloaded from RS) is corrupt, but is fully repairable using WinRAR.
The other 10 discs unRAR normally.

I can't seem to do anything usefull with these iso files. If I burn them to a dvd, I get a data file with what looks like an audio structure, but nothing will play it. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Foobar2000 will play the ISO with the SACD plugin.

If you burn it to DVD, you'll get a SACD-R, which some SACD players will play, others not. A few SACD players can be "upgradede" with a custom/hacked firmware.

If you don't run windows that's your choice.
You were offered advice how to repair, via windows, but if you want help for your system, then please tell us if it is mac, android or a form of linux or whatever.
It is possible to also do a similar repairs using mac software you just need to know how to use mac properly to do so.
If you are going to be on sites like this, doing downloads, then you really should do some homework and learn how to repair corrupt archives using whatever system you have on your 'puter.
This kind of corruption happens frequently, due to no fault of the ripper/uploader.
As a responsible adult, you need to be able to deal with it, rather than whining to the uploader about it, as it ain't his fault!

Thanks a lot for sharing these beautiful piano concertos in SACD format and also for providing Netload.in links. By the way, burn the iso file to DVD which will play perfectly in Sony BR/DVD players BDP-S580 or BDP-S780.

Jaywalker is probalby a Mac user. It struck me as ManWhoCan used the word "whining" - and since a year or two, "whiner" is word I use myself for Mac users :-(. Back in the good old days, Mac users were proud persons who did their stuff. Nowadays, all I see are persons who complain at me (!) that their platform doesn't support the software they need.

However, I also had problems with the 8th of disc 2 - and WinRAR 4.11 refused to repair it right away. I opened it with a hex editor (UltraEdit) and found out that, in my case, the first four or five or six bytes were were damaged, so the "Rar!" signature was missing. I opened an other file of the archive (part 7 I think) and corrected the six header bytes manually). I also noticed a shift of one byte - I don't know if I accidently inserted an extra byte myself, or if if was orignally there; it can easily be noticed of the human readable text in the broken archive file doesn't start at the same position as in the correct "reference file". I corrected the byte shift as well. After that, the file was correct, not even requiring WinRAR's repair function.

People who are about to attempt this unusually large download should realise that:

1. As stated in the description, all these discs were originaly recorded in STEREO - the surround sound effect was added later using the "SpatialSonics" process.
2. These discs were recorded in different venues and the sound quality varies between venues. The sound quality is good to very good overall, but some of it is just plain bad - notably the Sonatas (tracks #8 to #14) on Disc 1. This is probably why this set has received mixed reviews.
3. The sound levels on all discs are low, and need at least a + 6dB boost when ripping with foobar.

Overall I am very happy to have this set, most of which is of high quality - thank you evaristegalois :)

I am a Mac user but I also use, if it's necessary, Parallels Desktop. You can switch from Mac to Windows and solve the problem
