Best solution: don't use rapidshare.

Good tips, the most important ones included.
But companies nowadays not only search on Rapidshare directly. They also "google" for their things. They all know warez sites. So with just sending the warez site, program / music name, RS links to Rapidshare is enough to get deleted. They don´t have to open or download files (password isn´t important to be deleted or not).
Rapidshare changes were made exactly because of that. Too much pressure of companies /BSA etc.
And the "new" RS.com must carefully listen to any report of piracy.
so it´s safer to upload to another server, which isn´t that much under fire of BSA, RIAA, MS and all our other friends...

Like someone said before on Avax...

" Following the massive deletion spree Rapidshare went into these last days where, practically, all links were killed and blacklisted, I kindly ask you to message me for links. I am afraid I cannot reupload for eternity. The section is all deleted again, thanks to the usual trolls!!! "

This is the reason I decided to write some tips for you in order to minimize the deletion of your upload and your account to be closed, just like it happened to me.

3 simple rules to follow if you want to help keep the uploads somewhat safe:

1) Whe you create your file, (rar or zip) please don't name it after the original file name. Use another name for Christ sake!
For instance if your Mp3 is called Shakira-Remix (RARE)
Maybe call it "SRR"
2) Hide it in another file with a diffrent extension. For instance SRR.php
3) Use a password

And last but not least, ask people to send you a private message so you can send them the password. It may slow down the snitch on Rapidshare.

Maybe it's not all that great, but it can help you and the downloaders to keep links alive!

Be well !

HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA

Man Rapidshare deleted their own links, if you dont know that by now your an idiot.

Rapidshare has fucked you all.

1st they start deleting files from .DE at random knowing that when .COM was ready you will all migrate.

2nd They started lying about .DE and .COM being two different companies FUCKING BULLSHIT.

3rd They offer you a compatible amount of time on .COM as according to your .DE account.

4th Now you are being asked to buy 2 accounts. 1 for .DE 1 for .COM

Suckers!!! and rapidshare just gets away with it because you are all desperate.

Please guys please fucking wake up.

Message from "apants" was dead on.
I was wondering when someone was going to comment on this obvious SCAM.
I wonder who Rapidshare thinks their customers are.
I paid for a premium account on the .de site. So now everyone is uploading to the .com site. Lucky I only pay by the month so I'm only out about 15 bucks.
Still it's such a blatant money grab I'm suprised it hasn't caused more comment.

I don't agree with you. I have account at .de and I created account at .com for free. Also my point from .de I had there at the time of creation of account at .com were transfered to .com.

@lostdog: you´re totally wrong, as said above by plb2003.

we still don´t know where the RS thing will lead us to in the end...
i fear the music industry is trying very hard to get their hands on RS´ IP-backups. i think it´s also very interesting, that this german company has migrated into switzerland (monetary OR judicial reasons?). i heard, that in germany RS recieves more hits than even Google... this probably means, that MANY people are working for that company on all levels (even as trolls, who probably are nothing else but 2-legged alibis)

By observing how rapidshare had been operating, I can't help but think that the .de and .com issue is really another business tactic. About rapidshare deleting its own files, that is highly possible too.

Even so, I see no reason in condemning rapidshare. Ultimately, rapidshare is only selling a service. Customers are free to choose whether to buy, renew or terminate the service.

As to why rapidshare still provide an option for "free user", it is again, a form of marketing strategy -- to retain existing customers (by giving rapidshare points), and provide free user a chance of TRYING out the services.

In conclusion, rapidshare is NOT meant for free users. If you belong to the camp of free users, pick another free service to share your files instead. If you are a premium user, continue using the service if its reasonable.

ps: This is my just 2 cents worth.

Whoever is deleting all the files will win the game if people stop re-uploading them and sites like this one will go down. Rapidshare is a big con, but for premium users the downloads are very fast and user friendly, I personally hate all the other share sites because they are so slow and quite often your download just stops for ages. Everybody must swap to .com and stop using .de altogether, this way hopefully we will be back to one Rapidshare site and Rapidshare will lose. Also complain alot to Rapidshare, send them emails complaining about files being deleted and threaten to cancel premium subscriptions, I do this alot, and if enough people do it they will not be so quick to delete.

http://www.mytempdir.com/1030738 is a 1 kb file, only a text file with this test inside:

Like someone said before on Avax...

@ apants
Do you have any no sense of communication without telling someone they are an idiot?!
Return to where you belong...
Posted By: drloveone Date: 02 Nov 2006 18:23:02
@Skyhawk No test here my friend...just my opinion about uploading on RS... what's yours?
Posted By: dnunda Date: 03 Nov 2006 01:50:29
Here are some extra ideas I have:
1. post RS links in a text file on another server.
2. split files into 50MB RARs and post one or two links per day to allow those with dial-up to download before links are deleted.
3. Perhaps don't use searchable text to name program/music etc. Use graphic instead. Search engine won't find them but if you visit AvaxHome regularly it won't matter.
Thats my 2 cents worth.

Another thought. It takes me ages to read all the new posts each day. Re-reading all the old ones would be impossible! Post new links in the comments of original post rather than re-posting – you can always bookmark and keep checking if you really want something. I have found that links last much longer this way. Use this in conjunction with my previous tips and most should have ample opportunity to download.
