I would like to make some comments on the disagreement that has become apparent these last day or so.

I agree on the fact that the more mirrors there are, the better por the downoader. Nevertheless, Something should be said on the uploaders behalf. The do need some sort of motivation to continue posting, and something should be done to secure them, for at least a period of time (maybe a week or so) some kind of exclusivity for their chosen server. That should feel as more fair treatment for their effort.
There is no need to be too picky about the mirrors, those that do not want to download from rapidshare won´t mind waiting a week if they are really interested in the download.
This measure should also contribute to encourage the publication of new materials on the bases of exclusive download site for a specific time.

Think about it. A healthy solution must comprise a win-win situation. In this global village, an agreement for their members must be sought if they are to survive and strive.

Greetings from Chile, South America

The interesting question is why people are mirroring files. Because the mirrorers have no benefits at all. Because as a user without some kind of account at RS or Oxy or MU I will download the stuff from the mirror that has less disadvantages.
Means if the file was original postad to Megaupload(MU) and someone has mirrored it to RS I will download it from RS because I have a premium account, but the uploader to RS has no benefits from mirroring the file to RS.
Only if I had no account at all I will download the file from the host with the smallest amount of disadvantages. And in the end you will have some benefits from downloaders which are free users only if they don't have an account at all (because if they have an account somewhere there will be someone mirroring the file on that host).
It's like building groups and each group preferes a mirror. Someone shares something on depositfiles first. Then some mate downloads it and mirrors it on RS, but he knows that only people from his group -> with a RS premium account will use his mirror because people not having neither a depositfiles nor a RS account will use randomly the host with the smallest overhead.
Means it is in the end a competition between the hosts to offer the best download conditions.

So mates if something was very useful purge the premium cookie from your browser and download the useful file as a free user. And then log on again as a premium user. Or if you have a depositfiles account please download the useful file from RS (even if you have it already from a mirror) to give a reward to the original poster.

It takes only 5-6 minutes and seems to keep some people motivated.
