Sam Cooke - Night Beat
Analogue Productions 45 rpm DoLP / APP 2709-45
Mastered by George Marino @ Sterling Sound

Vinyl rip in 24-bit/96kHz & 16-bit/44.1kHz | FLAC | m3u, cue & Log | RS & FF
Label pix only | 800/200 mb incl. recovery | Blues; Gospel; Soul | 1963

Allmusic.com rating: 5 out of 5 Stars

Whenever I think of Night Beat, I wonder how many records as perfect have been made since 1963. Listen anew to Sam Cooke's vocal honey on this Soul Blues album and I doubt you will come up with any worthy contenders...This 45 RPM issue was remastered at Sterling Sound and brings out the backing musicians including organist Billy Preston and guitarist Barney Kessel better than the ABKCO release, and makes it sound more like Sam was in the same room with the band. The definitive Night Beat.

"…it obsoletes the original in almost every way…When you hear the new reissue, even if you've heard the original 100 times since it first came out, which would easily be me, you will almost jump out of your seat when you hear these familiar elements move from the shadows to the foreground…Astral Weeks, one of the great records of the rock era, is destined to become one of the great reissues of the post-CD/analog revival era." - Michael Fremer, Musicangle.com

Rated by Soundstage.com: 5 out of 5 for Recording Quality!

A favorite of audiophiles because her music and voice lend themselves to purist recording techniques, Diana Krall perpetually sounds in great form on her recordings... The sound, remastered by Bernie Grundman, is clear, spacious and well defined -- outstanding in every way, the backing players as vivid as Krall's voice and piano.

If you’re a fan of this record, you can’t go wrong with this Pure Pleasure Records reissue, even if it will take some time for your system to catch up to what’s been engraved in the grooves. If you’re not into the blues, or not into SRV, don’t expect a better sounding version of Couldn’t Stand The Weather to convince you.

Led Zeppelin's fourth album, Black Sabbath's Paranoid, and Deep Purple's Machine Head have stood the test of time as the Holy Trinity of English hard rock and heavy metal, serving as the fundamental blueprints followed by virtually every heavy rock & roll band since the early '70s.

As sobering as his reflections on the horrors of World War I are on the title song, he's unapologetically amusing on "Going to Brazil," "Angel City" (an ode to the "beautiful" party people of L.A.), and "Ramones" (which salutes the New York punk band). Whether the subject matter is humorously fun or more serious, Motörhead is as inspired as ever on 1916. - Alex Henderson/AMG

Motörhead as an Audiophile LP, does that work? Yes, this great album sound better than ever. Big thx to PurePleasure for the courage to release an audiophile Hard-Rock record and to Ray Staff for his excellent work.

~1.05gb/300 mb incl. recovery | RS & FF | Soul, Blues, Country | 2008

What a debut!!! Simply, wonderful music!

The Phantom Limb sound is an indefinable blend of classic southern soul and country blues. They blend modern songwriting and rich acoustic music with powerful gospel-inflected vocals. Already comparisons are being made to Mavis Staples, Aretha Franklin and The Band. Their honest, melancholic, Bristolian edge creates one of the most original and compelling new propositions of recent years. The self-titled debut album was the brainchild of Robot Club production team, whose recent writing/production credits also include Will Young, Skin (Skunk Anansie) and Fortune Drive. The album was recorded at their very own Robot Club Studios (Bristol) as well as Rockfields Studio (Monmouth) and Caveman Studios (Bristol).

Get ready for the ride of your life through Irish folk-rock styles. The opening track of the group's debut album, with its pipes, button accordion, and percussion, could pass for any Chieftains record, but then the electricity kicks in on "Hall of Mirrors," and the rest is melodic rock, not so much folk-rock as folkish rock, recalling early Genesis.

A great album with also great sonics. If you have only small interests in irish folk and celtic rock this, besides "The Book Of Invasions" and "The Tain", shouldn't be missed! IMO all masterpieces of this genre.

A very accessible and commercially-appealing album, Court and Spark was Mitchell's commercial and popular triumph — it wasn't only praised by critics (as were all of her albums of the 1970s) but was also received very warmly by the public, becoming her most successful album.

A great sounding re-issue. IMO even better as the original US pressing and the Nautilus record....

A heady mix to say the least! It's a varied album, daring in its choices and remember - most are original songs by Topham. "Ascension Heights" is a grower that bears repeated listening.

Great sounding re-issue.... An original is nearly impossible to find. Wonderful release by Pure Pleasure Records!

Dirt is Alice in Chains' major artistic statement and the closest they ever came to recording a flat-out masterpiece. It's a primal, sickening howl from the depths of Layne Staley's heroin addiction, and one of the most harrowing concept albums ever recorded
- Steve Huey/AMG

Awesome sounding reissue of this 90's rock masterpiece...
