Using medieval Spain as a jumping off point, Beiser has commissioned a collection of works that celebrate Christian, Jewish, and Muslim musical traditions. The participants frequently interweave stylistic and ethnic boundaries. The results are frequently engaging musical hybrids.</div></td><td class="quote_right">&#8221;</td></tr></table> Wed, 05 Oct 2011 01:43:15 GMT http://avaxhome.ws/music/classical/maya_beiser_provenance.html Piterets Thomas Koppel - Los Angeles Street Concerto (2006) http://avaxhome.ws/music/classical/koppel_los_angeles_street_concerto.html Music, Lossless (wav, ape, flac ...), +Classical, 2000s, Avant-Garde, 1950 - 2000 Contemporary , 2000 - present 21th Century <div class="image"><a href="http://pixhost.me/pictures/1736073" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://pixhost.me/avaxhome/89/7d/001a7d89_medium.jpeg" id="external_img_1736073"/></a></div><br/> <div class="center"><b>Thomas Koppel - Los Angeles Street Concerto (2006)</b><br/> Contemporary Classical | Dacapo | 2006 | 50:57 | EAC (FLAC, cue, log) | Booklet | RS | 245 MB<br/> <i>Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, Bo Holten (conductor), Michala Petri (recorder); Lars Hannibal (guitar)</i></div><br/> <table class="quote"><tr><td class="quote_left">&#8220;</td><td class="quote_center"><div class="justify">The two concertos by Thomas Koppel (1944-2006) on the present disc are fresh, lively, and often moving works that, although written in a freely tonal idiom, never become anodyne.
